.NAME Domain Names

Established in 2001, the .NAME top-level domain is the only one meant for personal websites only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other labels people are famous by. At first, solely 3rd-level registrations were permitted, so if you wished to purchase john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already taken third-level domains remained running.

Through our firm, you can register your .NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will be able to change the WHOIS contact info, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an existing domain to our firm if you get its EPP transfer authorization key from the current domain provider and we will renew it after the transfer has been done. There are no specific requirements on who can register a dot NAME domain name, but in order to keep the concept behind its creation alive, the .NAME Registry may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain, the registration might be challenged.

The .NAME top-level domain is one of the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no further cost. In this way, your .NAME domain will be recognized in your country or area with the proper spelling in your local language.
